Supporting Parkinsons Through Movement

In January 2026, Personal Trainer and Pilates teacher Jeremy Bingham completed the Parkinson’s Pro CPD course, a specialist training programme, endorsed by CIMSPA and provided by Fitpro, which focused on using targeted exercise to support people living with Parkinson’s. Jeremy was inspired to take the course by one of his clients recently diagnosed with Stage 1 Parkinson’s, and wanted to deepen his knowledge to offer the most effective, evidence‑based support.

Parkinson’s Pro is built around the science of neuroplasticity; the brain’s ability to form new neural pathways when stimulated in the right way. Research shows that specific types of exercise, including aerobic work, strength training, balance practice and skill‑based movement, can help slow the progression of Parkinson’s by supporting brain health and activating dopamine‑related pathways.

By challenging both body and brain, targeted movement can improve coordination, mobility and cognitive function, helping people maintain independence and quality of life for longer.

With this new qualification, Jeremy is now able to offer more specialised, thoughtful support to clients living with Parkinson’s.
